Meet Lonzo Law’s Senior Paralegal, Amber Kenney
Meet Amber Kenney, Lonzo Law’s senior paralegal and creative director of all things crafty, fun, and thoughtful.
- Please share a little bit about your education and past work experience.
I’m a first generation college graduate and I received a Bachelor of Arts in Dance Performance & Stage Lighting from University of South Florida-Tampa. I’ve worked 20 years in the legal field starting as file clerk during college summers and working up to legal assistant and then paralegal. I’ve worked in both defense and plaintiff firms on a variety of cases including medical malpractice, auto insurance, personal injury, construction, premises liability, and more

- What brought you to Lonzo Law?
Kevin asked me nicely. 😊 We worked together at a defense firm before I left for another law firm. My attorney of four years decided to move the team to a firm that was not employee friendly. Kevin happened to reach out one day to see how I was doing. I replied, “not the day to ask that question” in which he replied, “or is it?”. And the rest as they say is history.
- Please share what you do for Lonzo Law.
My official title is Senior Paralegal, but I’m also the Office Manager and Creative Director for all things crafty, festive and thoughtful.
- Lonzo Law is focused on being a partner to its clients and not just a law firm. We strive to be a legal resource to small business owners through all phases of starting, growing, and maintaining a business. What does this mean to you? Why do you think this approach to legal services is so valuable?
We are interested in helping clients through all phases of their small business. A lot of times owners have a dream but not a solid plan on how to execute that dream and we want to help them succeed to their fullest. I like the personalized one on one interaction and the fact that we offer a payment plan to make representation more approachable. A lot of times the words “attorney” or “law firm” have negative connotations and/or anxieties behind them and I love that we’re working to change the narrative.
- What do you enjoy doing for fun?
In no particular order, I enjoy photography, crafting – making my own greeting cards, wreaths and other home décor items, travel, attending live music events, supporting the arts, reading, and spending time with my family. My husband and I have been married for almost most 20 years and we have two boys (16 & 17) and four rescue elderly pups.
- What is something most people don’t know about you?
I love to learn about anything and everything. I feel there’s always room for personal growth and improvement. While an extreme introvert, I enjoy meeting and chatting with others and learning about them.
